What is floating?
Floatation involves lying in a super-saturated solution of 453.6kg (1000lbs) of Epsom-salt in about 30cm (11.8 inches) deep of water. The salt water solution is heated to skin temperature of 35.5⁰C (95.9⁰F). Once you are settled, it is almost impossible to tell which parts of your body are in the water and which aren’t. The high density of our saline solution will make you feel completely weightless, letting every single muscle in your body fully relax. The float pods are specifically designed to block out all external distractions, such as sights, sounds, tactile sensations and gravity.

Overview
We offer 60-minute floatation therapy sessions, or “floats,” in one of our four modern, aesthetic and very spacious float pods.
We recommend those who are new to this type of therapy try floating two or even three times within a relatively short period of time to settle into the experience. That’s not to say first-time floaters don’t have amazing experiences—they often do. But it can take a few sessions to truly let go. That’s when the good stuff happens!
How it Works

We will send you a reminder in advance of your scheduled float. If you need to cancel, we understand. We simply ask that you give at least 24-hour notice.
Everything you will need before, during and after your float is provided. Just bring yourself and an open mind. If you wear contact lenses, please bring something to store them in during your float.
When you come in, please mute your phone. It sucks having your float interrupted by a beeping phone. If you are a first-time floater, show up a few minutes prior to your float so we can familiarize you with the center, our float pods, and the pre- and post-float process.
You will get your own private float room, which includes a float pod, sink and a shower. After your pre-float shower, move to the pod to begin your float. At this point, all you have to do is NOTHING, except try to relax and enjoy the experience!
When your 60 minutes is up, you will hear music begin to play in the tank to notify you that your float is over. Take your time while getting out of the tank, then shower again to remove any excess salt.
If, after your float, we do not engage you in conversation, don’t take it personally – we actually don’t do it because we believe it is to your benefit! The post-float state can be a great time to readjust, reflect or even just smile uncontrollably, so we like to give you some space. If and when you are ready to chat, we would love to hear about your experience.
You are welcome to chill out in our post-float space for as long as you like. There is a prep area with hairdryers, lotions and other toiletries that you are free to use. We provide complimentary tea, coffee and water, reading material, sketch pads and a post-float journal for anyone who wants to leave comments or document their experience for others to read.
FAQs
Because floating is still relatively unfamiliar to many people, we get asked a lot of questions. If you have a question that isn’t answered below, please contact us and we will do our best to answer it.
• You are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• You are epileptic and your epilepsy is not under medical control.
• You have an infectious skin condition.
• You have kidney disease.
• You are incontinent. (If in doubt about any condition, please check with your healthcare provider).
• You have open wounds. That won’t feel good.
• You recently dyed your hair. Please wait 1-2 weeks, or until your hair washes out clear in the shower.
• You recently got a spray tan.
• You recently got a tattoo. Floating before the tattoo has fully healed can cause fading, and that’s no good. Please wait 3-4 weeks before floating or talk to your artist about recommended care.
Absolutely! Pregnant women can really benefit from the near zero gravity environment. We highly recommend it for women in their second or third trimester. However, we always suggest you get the approval of your OB, midwife or other provider before you float.
For many people, the concern of claustrophobia seems to stem from the idea that float pods are small, tight spaces similar to tanning beds, which is actually far from the truth. Our pods are spacious enough, imagine an oversized bathtub open to the room. Generally, the concern of claustrophobia is heavily mitigated, if not eliminated, once people see the pods in person. If you would like to view our pods before you decide whether or not to float, we will gladly show you around. Keep in mind that during your float, you are in complete control. If at any point you want to get out of the pod, feel free to do so.
There is no right or wrong length of time to float, however from our experience, and the studies conducted worldwide, 60 minutes is the preferred length. You may find it can take a while to fully relax. Sixty minutes gives us time to reach that state and stay there for a sufficient while. If you cannot commit to a full 60 minutes, let us know and we can end your float whenever you choose.
Please, go ahead! Don’t worry about rolling over; the Epsom salt solution keeps you afloat and makes it difficult to roll over. The deep state of relaxation you will be in limits the body’s urges to shift.
The water is kept at the same temperature as the surface of your skin, roughly 34.5 – 35.5 degrees Celsius. This prevents the body from having to expend energy thermo-regulating. It’s not hot, it’s not cold, it’s just right!
Water quality and cleanliness are top priorities. The Epsom salt solution is highly sterile and the water in the pods is run multiple times through a rigorous filtration system between each float session. The system includes a micron filter, UV light, Ozone and hydrogen peroxide application. Unlike pools and hot tubs, only one person floats at a time (and showers before entering the pod). No rigorous activity that would cause sweating is happening while you are in the tank.
Try to avoid caffeine, nicotine and other stimulants several hours prior to your float. We suggest not eating large meals a few hours beforehand; a small snack leading up to is fine. Try to avoid shaving or waxing for about 12 hours before, otherwise it might sting. For small cuts and rashes we provide non-petroleum jelly to apply before getting into the tank.
We begin and end the floats with music. If you would like to listen to music for longer throughout your float, let us know.
Yes! No bathing suits please. This is not only for sanitation and cleanliness purposes, but also because any form of clothing will ultimately become a distraction in the tank.
No, actually the Epsom salt solution is good for our hair and our skin and can help leave it feeling soft and smooth, even after multiple hours in the tank.
We believe it is up to you to know your body, but generally, yes. All we ask is that you prepare the same as you would for a public pool.
